"Song & Dance" showcases, reimagines, and remixes the worlds of vocal and dance music as heard through the voice of the cello. My interest as an artist always lies in following joy and immersing oneself completely in the present moment: what better way to share that experience with others than through two such universal human impulses as singing and dancing?

As with everything that has shaped my career thus far, this album is imbued, too, with a sense of home. Woven throughout this collection of works are pieces written by composers who were/are from or closely associated with the city of Chicago: Augusta Read Thomas' "Chant," and Lamentations: Black/Folk Song Suite by Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson, as well as the premiere commercial recordings of Felix Borowski's "Adoration," and Florence Price's "Three Spirituals," which I've arranged for cello and piano.

I am so grateful for your help in bringing this album to life, and can't wait to share it with the world!

I'm also incredibly thankful to Esprit des Concerts (parent not-for-profit of the Juliani Ensemble), for serving as a fiscal sponsor, making all donations tax-deductible.
